Review: Chikara no Yu near Takeda St in Kyoto. In the same complex as a futsal stadium. This is some trucked in [運び湯] from Nose I'm Osaka. Same spring that Spa Valley Hirakata Minami uses. Decent enough supersento in an area with no other options. Great option if you are in the JR Kyoto Station area. I came here after hiking up in Keihoku and arriving on the bus from Shūzan. Visit Date: November 2020

Review: This supersento is located in the delta where the Katsuragawa and Yodogawa rivers meet. Given the location I was surprised that there was a natural hot spring offer here and not I was surprised to see that the hot spring here is trucked in from Kameoka in Mie. The hot spring only fills a shallow, small, and popular outdoor bath. Overall, the bathing here is quite small. There is a nice selection of various jet and electric baths including a somewhat rare, especially in a supersento, pull-up bar. The carbonated bath was quite weak. There are two dry saunas and a decent cold-water bath. Best thing about this sento is the hand painted mural of the seven lucky gods portrayed as frogs along the front wall. Thankfully, they have a sign showing the different mural on the women’s side as the baths do not change here. It was kind of busy, small and had middling baths so not really worth going out of your way to visit. However, good if you are in the neighborhood or a dry sauna fan. Visit Date: March 2021 *Hot Spring Data*Spring Type: Bicarbonate spring - 炭酸水素塩泉Well Temperature: 28.8°CTemperature Type: Warm spring - 低温泉pH Type: Weak alkaline - 弱アルカリ性Osmotic Pressure: High - 高張性Well Name: Turtle Onsen - タートル温泉

The bubble bath in the back corner is constantly overflowing with small, white soap-like bubbles. I went here after along hike and found the cold water bath to be exceedingly refreshing. The locals seem (at least the afternoon I was there) to be big sauna users and the cold water bath got a lot of use that day.

Review: In the USA, some diners have Coke, and others have Pepsi. There's a slight difference between the two, but it is noticeable. Then there are the diners that have RC. When you find an RC diner, you've found something rare. This sento is the RC cola of sento. Everything seems the same as most other Kansai area sento, but it's just different enough. This is also one of the most "real" sento I have visited. Real in the terms that the tiles, fixtures, lockers, etc., do not seem repaired, changed, or remodeled since it was initially built.  There is only a single bath here with shallow and deep sections plus a few bubbles. The shallow bubble section near the back wall is the coolest, while the deep section is scorching. I liked it, but some people might find it hard to enjoy. There is no sauna or cold-water bath here, but there is a tap water shower with a great metallic iron smell. Not sure if it is well water or just the pipes, but the shower felt great! The smells here, combined with the weather, plant-lined entrance, and evening sky outside, made me feel like this was another world.  I'll happily put Mukaijima on my list of retro sento and recommend it to all those who can make the trip.

Review: I'm from Tucson, Arizona. Now, Tucson is not a city with a lot of water or places to take a bath. It's a hot and dry desert city. In some of the older buildings with their stucco walls, the air is amazingly fresh and cool. This sento, with its high ceilings, plastered walls, and strong fan, gave me the same feeling as those grand old buildings in Tucson. Hence, I will make the unusual claim that Takara-onsen is the most Tucson feeling of any sento I've visited. The tile work on the inside only helps enhance that feeling.
Here, the baths are simple: deep, shallow, and a bubbling circular bath built into the shallow one. Plus, there's a cold-water bath in a cave-like alcove. All the baths here are filled with lovely well water with a special feeling. As a bonus, there's also a 3-person steam sauna. It's a bit cooler than my preferred temperature, but it was very inviting.
Takara Onsen is also a member of the retro sento postcard club. Like the rest, these are some of the best sento to visit in Kansai. This one is well-rounded with high scores for the aesthetics, refreshing baths, and friendly owners.
100% highly recommended. You should go out of your way to visit this beautiful sento.

Review: Such a happy experience here. I typically judge sento on the quality of the baths or the quality of the ascetics. However, the quality of the community experience on a single visit is hard to judge, so I do not often comment deeply on this aspect in these reviews. Tatsumi Yokujyo is such a welcoming experience that I have to make that the top reason to go. I felt happily accepted here. Seeing that this is a municipal bath, the welcome felt even more friendly.
The main central bath is divided into 3 sections: deep, shallow, and jets. They are hot, and the water is brilliantly clear. This seems to be a point of pride for this sento. A separate bubble bath is only slightly cooler. This is a bath for people who like it hot. Even the standing shower, the single source of cool water, was only mildly cool.
Speaking of showers, the washing station showers were all lovely and adjustable. One grandpa in the bath with me was sitting with his back to the shower getting his shoulders rained upon. It looked really comfortable.
NHK rule applies here too!
Buckets are given out at the bandai upon entrance. They are free, but you need to ask for one. Also, make sure to wipe it off before returning it.

A bit smokey in the snack counter/lounge area. For as big as this place is the bath area is quite small. 2 cold baths one on both floors. The sauna seems to be the local meeting spot for the neighborhood men.
