Review:Amazingly old sento. Feels like it is from the Taisho era (Actually it opened in 1943 in the Showa era). Everything is wood and fragile—especially the door to the bathroom. Please tread lightly over these floors that feel as smooth and filled with history as the floors of a temple or shrine. The tile is not in perfect rows there are imperfections. This sento was hand built and it shows. The smokestack in the rear is made of brick and somewhat famous among historical preservationist and sento people. Inside the baths there is only one faucet with a shower, so do not use that one as it might need to be used by someone who has a disability or extremely elderly. This is an old school bucket to rinse off sento. There are only two baths, hot and hotter. Umegae-yu is a place of living history. Please keep that in mind if you visit.Visit Date: October 2020
