ReviewRoof top bath connected to the APA hotel in downtown Kanazawa. I was quite surprised about the quality of the onsen which is piped from underground all the way too the roof of this 14 story tall building. The view from the roof is amazing as expected. Free use for guests of the hotel otherwise it's 1,500 for 3 hours use. Coupons available on the website

As it is well signed, you can compare both springs here and get an idea of how different springs feel different on the skin. The outdoor bath is up a long set of stairs on the roof of the building. There are also family baths on the second floor that we did not get the chance to try. Highly recommended.Visit Date: August 2019 *Hot Spring Data*Spring Type: 1) Chloride spring - 塩化物泉2) Bicarbonate spring - 炭酸水素塩泉Well Temperature: 1) 362) 39.3°CpH: 1) 8.182) 7.82pH Type: 1) Weak alkaline - 弱アルカリ性2) Weak alkaline - 弱アルカリ性Osmotic Pressure: 1) Low - 低張性2) Low - 低張性Well Name: 1) Kinjyo Onsen #1 -金城温泉(1号源泉)2) Kinjyo Onsen #2 -金城温泉(2号源泉)

Review: This is a small sento on the first floor of a bigger building. Because it is located on the first floor, this sento has a lower roof. Lots of unique features here. A marine exhaust fan is built into the glass between the changing room and baths. A small steam sauna is in the back and seats three. Also, a shallow, treated bath is in the back. Everything was indoors, but there was a glass pane for the back wall with a lovely garden, including a small fishpond. The small, main deep bath had the floor divided into three textures: plastic mats, a piece of stone, and some black river rock. Lovely options to bring some variety to a simple deep bath. There were also push-down faucets to add cold water to the baths. Love the old-school 70's fan and the water cooler in the changing room. Overall, this is a small local sento that is very clean and well used. Highly recommended.

Review: This is a natural hot spring with a fantastic smell and body feel. Since I did not see any signs advertising the spring, I first thought it was artificial. Given the signage and overbuilt feeling, I also felt this bath had a solid municipal feel. On the other hand, it also looked privately run just by the little bit of dirt and icky stuff growing here and there, especially in the side shower room. There is one main bath along the back wall, a body shower and a ceiling-mounted shower in an alcove to the side, a cold-water bath, and a dry sauna. The sauna has a strong woody smell that I found inviting. Locals seemed to take the bath chairs into the sauna, which was interesting. As was the wild boar or alligator mascot character filling the fountain for the cold-water bath. Typically, they are lions, so it was unique to see something different. Being a Kanazawa sento, there was a lot of local art and a neon light sculpture throughout the building. Lovely place with great water and very inviting. I recommend you check it out.
