Review: Interesting municipal bathhouse in Nagaokakyo city. In fact, this is the only bathhouse in the city. Cheap entry at ¥220 (2021 price) for anyone. Changing room lacked lockers, just cubby holes and baskets. There were free small lockers that would fit a cell phone and wallet. However, I did not use it. Quite small on the inside with a main bath with some jets and bubbles. Besides that, there is a sauna (closed for COVID19) and a single person sized cold water bath. Best part of this sento was the big wide showerheads here. Nice thing about municipal baths like this is the signs all have furigana on them. Good for practicing reading as you enjoy your soak. I would love to know why this bath was built here and not in a different location. It is pretty cramped--hidden in a maze of small roads and houses. There’s also a liquor shop with a booze vending machine next door. Visit Date: March 2021
