ReviewBrand new very stylish supersento with an amazing well. This one is a bit pricy, but they give you quality in return. Upon entering the entire building feels like it was done right. The indoor baths are of ample size and selection. It has one of the best artificial carbonated water baths I've been in. They really pump the bubbles into the water here. The saunas are both wonderful, and the steam sauna had a great fragrance in it when I was there. The cold water bath is one of the best I've been in. It's a dark grey, somewhat rough concrete tub that is quite deep. Perfect for a hot day or after a long hike. The main hot spring fed outdoor bath has very shallow and some deeper areas with a very well thought out design. The spring is also of fairly high quality.Don't miss out watching the model trains in the lobby. My daughter liked them as much as she liked the baths.

Review*Closed* A great little sento I happened upon just across the street from JR Uji station. I was on a day tip with Yuko who kindly let me take a quick bath as she had a dessert at the cafe next door. The cafe next door looked really good too, but since this is an onsen blog I won't dwell on that. The sento was basic, small, and wonderful. Mid-afternoon is always my favorite time to take a bath. Arima-Yu is a very well kept and at least 70 years old. The baths were hot and the water was crystal clear. The electric bath was just the right strength and the jets were strong. The small single bench sauna lacked a TV but the piped in music was just as good, plus from the sauna there's a window into the changing room which was a first for me (since then I’ve found other places with this). The waterfall bath also was a lovely surprise. From the outside the entrance is quite old, you can tell where the original entryway gives way to the remodeled portion. Men and women have separate doors leading out to the street with a arrowhead shaped row of shoe lockers which divides the entryway on the inside. An unusual design. Despite its simplicity I deferentially recommend this sento for its access, baths and atmosphere.
