ReviewUnzen Sky Hotel has a large very retro shallow bath and a simple rocky rotenburo. Not the fanciest of the hotels in Unzen, but very relaxing. Make sure to get a discount ticket from the bus information center. This is one of the most acidic springs in Japan.

Make sure to boil some eggs in the hot sulfuric steam or try grilling oysters at one of the shacks on the way up.There is a family bath at Yumoto Hotel 1 hour for ¥2,000, ¥1,000 for hotel guests.
