Review: The cheapest sento in Osaka, a sign on the window claims, and at ¥300 (Fall 2021), it just might be. While you won't find a sauna or a large selection of fancy baths here, there are a few weak jets and an electric bath in the back. There isn't a cold water bath here, but there's a refreshing cold shower and cold kakari basin. Aesthetically this is a pretty basic bath with not much visual stimulation. During the day, there may be a small garden visible behind the rear windows, but after the sun sets, like during my visit, it was too dark to tell. All in all, this sento proves the NHK rule with a friendly lady working the entrance and an overall good experience. Good option if you are near ShinOsaka, seeing that Hinode is now closed.

Review: The last bath I had in Japan before moving back to the USA. I walked here from our hotel near Shin-Osaka station the night before getting the train to Kansai Airport and saying goodbye to the country that has dramatically impacted my life. It is a pleasant walk under some train lines and through typical Osaka row houses. I even passed by the Kamigata Brewery.  They are a smaller microbrewery that makes beer in a former sento building. Sadly they were closed, and I could not check out their facility.

Hikie-yu was a great last bath for me to enjoy in Japan. The grandmother working the Bandai was friendly. There were an ample amount of baths to choose from. Ascetically speaking, the stained glass in the partition between the men's and women's sides was quite pretty. Sadly, I was a bit moved by the entire situation to adequately remember or take notes about this bath. We had many problems pop up throughout moving to the USA-far, more than I expected. However, although these are hazy memories, I enjoyed this sento and hope to revisit it. Visit Date: September 2022

Review:Beautiful new supersento right in front of Kamishinjo Station on the Hankyu Kyoto line. The baths are on the second floor. They are small given the size of the land the building is on, that said the space is well used. The warm outdoor bath was a treat for my daughter. She had a ton of fun playing with the other children who were there. The spring is noticeable but not too strong. That said, it's very refreshing. If you drive here make sure you do everything right and get the parking medallion otherwise your parking fee could be 3,000-5,000!

Review:Shōwa-yu packs a lot of baths in a small space. This is an ideal station close sento with good hours and a great selection of baths. The steam bath really blasts it out when it is going and there is a quasi-rotenburo like radon bath that is great for forgetting the world. Even the main deep bath felt special. The only problem is that this is a really small place so make sure to move around so other people can enjoy all that Shōwa-yu has to offer.
Also check out all the silly sento signs that play off of major Japanese chain restaurants like Bikkuri Donkey or Sushi-ro.

Review:Yu no Kuni Onsen is very close to Hankyu Awaji Station. Looks kind of stark in its location thanks to the nearby road construction and all the bicycle parking (Spring 2016). Friendly staff in the lobby. I love the name which means: "Hot water country hot spring."

Review:Larger sento with a two floor layout, many bath choices and generally an interesting place. Had a fun chat with a locals about buying pot in the USA. Hard to justify going to giving there is an outstanding supersento with a hot spring between this place and Kamishinjo Station.
Heads-up. This place is listed elsewhere online as one of Osaka's 3 sento for cruising.

1st Review: It's a simple Osaka-style (baths in the middle) sento with a lot of heart. The owner in the bandai was pleasant, the young guys hanging out in the (small but refreshing) rotenburo were fun to talk to, the baths were clean and hot. I cannot ask for much more than that. No need to travel out of the way to try this one, but if you are in the neighborhood it is a good option.

2nd Review: Took a walk across Osaka to try out a different sento that was temporarily closed. A common problem during COVID-19. So! I was able to return to Wakatake for the second time. My photo of this sento from years ago is not that clear, but it is one of my most viewed photos for some reason on Google Maps.
Returning, I was happy to see this sento bright, friendly, and seemingly busy.

Review:Great sento walking distance from ShinOsaka station. Very useful place to know for a refresh after or before a shinkansen ride. The bath has a quality cold water bath and, surprisingly a outdoor bath on the second floor balcony. Recommended.
