Review:Beautiful outdoor area that looks down on a river and somewhat exposed to the road on the other side. Inside is a single very clean and soft spoken bath. Decent spring but nothing really amazing--par for the course in this area. The location and facilities really make this beautiful and I would visit it again given the chance. There is a waterfall and a Kannon statue off to the side of the parking lot. Access can be difficult without a car. Took a photo of the hot spring information but not of the building. Oops. We stopped here on the way out to the airport before a work trip so I was a bit flustered.

ReviewI mention often the birth of the supersento and those sento that exemplify the change over that has happened. Sechigo no Yu is basically a smaller supersento in size and diversity of baths, but in style it is very much a sento. The tiles and signs throughout the building are very much those that you would see in a normal sento. Sechigo no Yu is by no means a normal place—it is awesome. First off it is open 24 hours on weekends and holidays. The spring water is definitely natural—not the best but not bad in any way. Among the myriad of baths there is a cold air sauna here which I love finding. It is a bit of a walk from the station but accessible by public transport. It is also close enough to be an option for people going to Kansai International Airport.

Busses are few and far between so check the Mizuma Railway website for schedules. There are 4 onsen with day use in this area. I have been to all but one and this one is the best yet. Crystal clear water that is a hard bath on the skin, but the water-feel is light and soapy. One of the best simple onsen I have tried in the area and worth the trip. Only two baths, indoors and outdoors at normal temperature so the key here is the quality of the water. The facility has a sports gym, playground, restaurant, and BBQ patio so you can make a day of enjoying more than a few hours here if you wanted. Outstanding nature here also so close to Osaka city, but the temperature is lower and the air cleaner. Overall a great place to escape the city and get into some nature… and, of course, take a bath.
