ReviewChosei no Yu is the one supersento like bath in the Shirahama Onsen area. There are many other bathing options in an onsen village like this and Chosei is a good option. The baths are all made of wood and the entire place has a forest like feel to it. Interesting design in that you have to walk through the indoor bath to get to rotenburo.

ReviewFamous rotenburo built into a rocky slope going into the ocean. No place to wash here and only the most simple of changing areas. More like a pool or beach than a sento. Great water that leaves a white residue on the rocks. Each pond has a different temperature so make sure to explore. At the very bottom you can almost touch the sea. Parking available.
